Financial Analyst

Reports To: President

Job Summary: Responsible for financial planning, analyses, and projections for the company. Will forecast future revenues and expenditures to establish cost structures and determine capital budgeting for projects by collecting, monitoring, and studying financial and performance metrics.

Essential Job Functions

  • Determine the costs of operations by establishing standards costs and collecting operational data
  • Identify financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results against budgets and forecasts
  • Guide cost analysis process and techniques, recommending actions when opportunities for improvement are identified
  • Improve financial status by analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends, and recommending action plans to management when opportunities for improvement are identified
  • Prepare and present financial reports and projections based on analyses performed
  • Reconcile transactions by comparing and correcting data
  • Maintain the database by entering, verifying, and backing up data
  • Recommend action by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses, studying proposed changes in methods and materials
  • Increase productivity by developing automated accounting applications, coordinating information, and reporting requirements
  • Protect operations by keeping company financial information confidential
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing publications
  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results, as needed
  • Evaluate capital expenditures and depreciation
  • Make recommendations on opportunities for improved capital deployment/return, as identified
  • Provide financial models and forecasting to senior management and department heads

  • Expert-level analytical and financial modeling skills

  • Knowledge of ERP systems and related technologies
  • Excellent time management and organization ability
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, statistics, economics or another related field, CFA preferred

Qualifications and Experience

  • 3-years of experience as a Financial Analyst
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, or related field
  • Proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office, and financial software applications
  • 3-years of experience with statistical analysis and statistical packages
  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial forecasting, financial diagnostics, corporate finance, and information analysis
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent presentation and financial reporting skills
  • Knowledge in current financial subjects, accounting, tax laws, and mortgage banking accounting
